Straty Righellis Discourses on Active Self-Ligation
Posted by webmistress on Jul 27, 2013 in Articles | 0 commentsHotel Intercontinental Manila, June 5, 2013 – American associate professor Straty Righellis was recently in Manila to provide lucky dentists and orthodontists with a seminar on the new approach to self-ligation with the use of Ormco brackets Prodigy.
Dr. Righellis has extensive knowledge about the mechanics of self-ligation, but believed that the existing system could be improved. Together with a group of orthodontists, he developed Prodigy brackets which are capable of putting together the strengths of active and passive ligation techniques for the benefit of patients and orthodontic practitioners.

For dentists who have a good working knowledge of light forces in orthodontics, the idea of combining active and passive techniques in orthodontics is an intriguing prospect. Those lucky enough to participate in the seminar are now among the few who can use the experience to improve their orthodontic practice.
The seminar was sponsored by the Center for Orthodontic Training Seminars (COTS), in cooperation with the Philippine Society for Orthodontics (PSO), to provide their students and members with an opportunity for further learning. COTS Course Director Dr. Federico Nadela, Jr. believes that his students should always be at the forefront of the newest orthodontic techniques available in the market to increase their knowledge as well as their competitiveness in the market. Prodigy is distributed by COTS. For more information, please contact COTS at (02) 6546476, or email us at tini.abadicio@cotsph.com
